Here's Why Myrth Begins with "My"
We’ve definitely got an unusual name here at Myrth. We don’t spell it like you’d usually expect to see it spelled, and just like everything else we do around here, that was intentional. We did it for several reasons.
For one thing, we like it when little unexpected surprises pop up. The spelling of our name is no different. For another, we think the unusual spelling makes it a bit easier to remember.
But there’s another, more powerful reason that we decided to spell “Myrth” with a y.
It’s because this way, “Myrth” begins with the word “my,” and that’s crucial to what we do here. Our focus is on helping people build good habits and strong communities through intimate circles, and that means we value your individuality - but as part of a collective. We want you to be able to track your habits and communicate with your trusted circle in a way that works well for you, so we’re working toward building a highly customizable platform that will meet your individual needs.
We also wanted “Myrth” to begin with “my” because, if we’re working hard on habit-building here, we have to recognize a key factor: building and sustaining habits isn’t going to happen if there isn’t significant buy-in on the individual level. Before you can make any real changes, you have to decide for yourself that you’re going to do it. You have to put yourself in charge of your journey, and you have to renew your commitment to yourself every day. When you log in to Myrth, you’ll see that little reminder that this is your journey and your commitment.
“Myrth” begins with “my” because this is your community, too, in multiple ways. On the most basic level, you build your nanonetwork here on Myrth, and you decide who is in your trusted circle of people. That means you have ultimate control over how and who you interact with on this platform. On a larger level, the community of people who use Myrth have input into the directions we take this platform. We want you to be supported and nourished by the community here, both big and small, and we want to make sure you feel heard. Community is made up of individuals, and we value you as an individual.
Myrth is a place where people matter. That’s our ultimate driving force: people. We want to help you lead the life you want, with the people you want in your life, as much as possible. That means we can’t--and never want to--lose track of the important people who make Myrth what it is: a community of interrelated people all working together to build and reinforce good habits over time.
